Scenario PlanningPrint

The British Chamber of Commerce in Denmark Benelux Business Club Scandinavia

Shell uses scenarios to explore the future. Their scenarios are not mechanical forecasts. They recognise that people hold beliefs and make choices that can lead down different paths. They reveal different possible futures that are plausible and challenging. Their latest energy scenarios 'Energy Scenarios to 2050' look at the world in the next half century, linking the uncertainties we hold about the future to the decisions we must make. The workshop will involve considering how the world might look in the future and how we can prepare for, or even shape, the dramatic developments in global energy which will affect us all.

We are holding this event in conjunction with the Benelux Business Club Scandinavia.  Come and take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to hear more about this approach to planning from:

Nicola Gordon, Managing Director, Shell E&P DenmarkNicola Gordon is newly appointed Managing Director of Shell’s Exploration and Production business in Denmark.

Previously, as leader of Shell's Norway UK Cross Border Asset until end 2009, based in Norway, she was responsible for the development and operation of oil and gas fields in Norway and UK. Her team handled up to 30% of the gas supplied to the UK, through a network of onshore gas plants and offshore production platforms and subsea installations in both countries, including the giant Ormen Lange field. Since Nicola began her career with Shell almost thirty years ago, she has had a range of leadership roles in several countries in production engineering, human resources and operations management.

Nicola was the first female to be awarded a Master's in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University and also holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. She and her husband have three almost grown-up children along with two dogs.
