Come and see the spectacular view of Copenhagen from the top of the Codan building. Then settle into a meeting in English which will answer your questions about the essentials for setting up, establishing and doing business in Denmark.

 

This BCCD event is for businesses and business people in prospective, new, small or medium-sized enterprises and for individual business people getting started in Denmark and/or seeking to enhance their chances of achieving their vision.

 

Codan will host the event at which a panel from Founder Members Codan, DLA Nordic and Ernst & Young will set out some of the dos and don’ts and answer your questions on matters of insurance, legal matters, accounting and taxation.

Issues and questions

Members and guests are asked to send in their questions to jm@bccd.dk (marked “Codan event”) on issues such as:

 

Accounting and taxation:

  • Personal and expatriate taxation
  • General taxation rules
  • How to avoid the high Danish income tax
  • The 25% tax regime
  • Tax incentives for individuals (deductions for interest, pensions, transport etc, “virksonhedsordning”)
  • Favourable taxation of housing benefits

Insurance:

  • Insurance needs in Denmark
  • Customer value proposition
  • Global network/insurance

Legal issues:  

  • How to set up a limited liability company in Denmark
  • How to set up a branch of a UK company in Denmark
  • Why choose a Danish limited liability entity?
  • The day-to-day corporate requirements
  • Hiring and notice of employees
  • Particulars of terms of employment
  • The day-to-day employment requirements

The panel from the three companies will include:

 

Michael Beuchert, Manager at Ernst & Young who has worked in both the UK and Denmark providing advice to companies and individuals on Danish and international accounting, taxation and regulatory requirements;

Lise Lotte Hjerrild, Partner in the Corporate department at DLA Nordic, who has a UK law degree from Cambridge and specialised within Corporate and Securities law and Mergers and Acquisitions, on legal matters;

Peter Lundbaek, Partner in the Tax Department, Ernst & Young.

Søren Odgaard, Customer Service Manager at Codan responsible for Codan’s call centre and partner sales, on insurance matters;

Erik Wendelboe Christiansen, Partner in Employment department, DLA Nordic
