Nick Archer began his career with the Foreign Office in 1983 as a desk officer for the Far Eastern Department. He has mastered the Arabic language and has held the role of Assistant Private Secretary to both Douglas Hogg and HRH the Prince of Wales. He is no stranger to Scandinavia, having been posted to Oslo in 1995 as Head of Economic and Commercial Section. He co-authored the FCO report on the Consular response to the Asian Tsunami in 2005 and then became British High Commissioner in Malta for three years prior to being appointed HMA to Denmark in 2008.
