Søren B Henriksen can count among his many successes, the development of the business and employer's organisation "Dansk Erhverv" - the Danish Chamber of Commerce. From 1987, when he was appointed Managing Director, until he left in 2007, the organisation grew to be Denmarks' second largest business organisation, from 10 to 250 employees with 20,000 member companies.
He has a cand.jur from the Business School and is a lawyer qualified for the High Court of Justice in addition to having followed a number of management courses at Wharton Business School, Inseat and IMD. He has managed a chain of clothing stores, had his own legal practice with clients such as the band "Brøderne Strecker", Bent Fabricius-Bjerre, Bøje Nielsen's bankruptcy case, the cartoon film "Valhalla" and the Scala shopping mall development in Copenhagen.
He has been a member of the Welfare Commission and the Danish National Tax Tribunal, Vice Chairman for the European Trade organisation "Eurocommerce", one of the joint founders of "Round table for Businessservice" in Brussels and has sat on many other Boards, Committees and advisory groups. He also participates in several international networks.
A Knight of the Order of the Dannebrog.
He is now pursuing a life time interest in sport in a professional capacity, as Chairman of the Danish Athletics Association.
