BCCD-BIU has joined forces with P A Consulting and the Copenhagen Business School to hold a seminar focussing on:

“Why is it important to have women as Board members and top executives and how should we encourage/ensure that happens?”

We are pleased to be welcoming the following key note speakers:

Lady Barbara Judge



Chairman of the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority, Deputy Chairman of the Financial Reporting Council, Chairman of the School of Oriental & African Studies, Deputy Chairman of Friends' Provident plc and Deputy Chairman of The Financial Reporting Council.  She is also senior independent director of Quintain Estates and Development plc and a director of Massey Energy Inc (US), Magna International (Canada) and Bekaert NV (Belgium), among others.
 
In addition, she is a Trustee of the Royal Academy of Arts,  as well as being on the Governing Body of The Ditchley Foundation and a director of the Lauder Institute of International Management at the Wharton School and a member of the Trilateral Commission.
 
Historically, she was Commissioner of the US Securities and Exchange Commission, as well as being the first woman executive director of Samuel Montagu and Co., and of News International plc.  She also was founder/ Chairman of Private Equity Investor plc, among others.


Halla Tomasdottir




The executive chairman and co-founder of Audur Capital. Halla was previously the Managing Director of the Iceland Chamber of Commerce. She spent 6 years at Reykjavik University and was a key member of the foundation of the University as a founder and director for executive education and women entrepreneurship as well as an assistant professor. Halla spent 10 years in the USA where she started her career first with M&M/Mars and later she joined Pepsi Cola’s HR team. Halla has been a teacher and consultant for students and companies of all ages. Her interests are in the areas of Organizational Behavior and Entrepreneurship.

Halla has been a non executive board director of a number of organizations including the Icelandic Stock Exchange, Sjova, Iceland’s largest insurance company, Vistor, Iceland’s main pharmaceutical importer and Calidris, an airline software solutions provider. She currently sits on the board of Reykjavik University, Veritas Capital hf. and the executive board of the Iceland Chamber of Commerce


Kristin Petursdottir



The CEO and co-founder of Auður Capital. Kristin left her executive position at Kaupthing Bank in 2006 after 10 successful years. Kristin was a key member of Kaupthing’s management team and as such played an active role in growing Kaupthing from a small security house to a full scale bank with operations in 9 countries. Kristin was the managing director for Kaupthing’s treasury for a number of years before she took on the role of Deputy CEO of Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander in London. Before joining Kaupthing Bank she worked for Skeljungur (Shell in Iceland), Islandsbanki (now Glitnir) and Statoil in Norway.
