The UK after the election: Still an important business partner for Denmark?

Ambassador Birger Riis-Jørgensen joined the Danish Foreign Service in 1976. After a varied career he was, in 1996, appointed Under-Secretary, responsible for Africa, Asia and Latin America and all Danish bilateral development assistance. In 2000 he was appointed State Secretary (Foreign Trade) and given the task of merging the trade promotion organisations of four ministries into one (the Trade Council of Denmark) in the Foreign Service. He also joined the Four Member Senior Management Group in the Foreign Service.
Since September 2006, Birger Riis-Jørgensen has served as Ambassador to the Court of St. James’s. He is married and has two children.
The ambassador will analyse the political situation after the election and the challenges facing the British government and people. He will then have a closer look at the opportunities for Danish companies in the UK market and be happy to answer questions.
