Thriving in the MatrixPrint

Many businesses are faced today with the reality of being geographically dispersed, and relying on matrixed teams working together. Individually each of these is a challenge, and together they can make for real problems in communication. This event will explore the communication and influencing skills that are needed to survive and thrive in this environment. You will learn:

  • How to have influence without authority
  • How to manage people at a distance
  • How to work with your stakeholders
  • The difference between teams and workgroups
  • How to support virtual teams

This promises to be a pragmatic, informative, enjoyable, and challenging evening. It will also be interactive, and include your chance to test and work with the ideas to make them fit your own circumstances.

There will be two speakers at this event:

Michael Almer, Head of Corporate People and Organisation, Novozymes.
"Managing networks and remote employees."

Christopher Barrat, Consultant, Greystone
"Thriving in the Matrix"

Michael Almer is head of 'People & Organisation' at Novozymes. The Novozymes organization is dispersed around the globe, and has locations in almost every time zone.  All of its functional management teams include members from each continent. Therefore networks play a crucial role in tapping into knowledge and getting things done. Michael has been working at Novozymes for the last six years. Before joining Novozymes Michael worked as management consultant for 9 years.

Greystone logoChristopher Barrat is a leading international speaker and consultant, who has a lot of experience in the real world of business. Having been both a senior European sales manager and a director of purchasing he has a unique insight into ‘both sides of the table’. Christopher has already spoken several times in Denmark, and to real acclaim. A talk he gave at the Opera house on networking skills prompted a leading article in Børsen.  Christopher recently had the honour of being the first English speaker to be invited to present at the ‘Speakers Club’ in Copenhagen to over 250 delegates, and was voted one of the best speakers they have worked with. His style combines sharp insight, a wicked wit, and a great ability to engage with an audience on the issues that are important to them.

This event will be kindly hosted by Novozymes at their premises.
