| Anti-bribery - are you compliant? | Print |
Eversheds Advokataktieselskab, Dansk Fashion and Textile, the British Chamber of Commerce in Denmark invite you to a seminar, focusing on the UK Bribery Act 2010 and the practical steps you can take to mitigate the risk of unintentional, but costly, violations.
With the UK Bribery Act 2010 having entered into force on 1 July 2011, Danish companies carrying on business in the UK are at risk of falling prey to one of the strictest anti-bribery laws in the world. Jail sentences of up to 10 years and unlimited criminal fines can be the uncomfortable possibility, not to mention loss of profits, business opportunities, reputation, management time and public trust.
The only defence to the Bribery Act’s “failure to prevent” offence is where the company can show it had “adequate procedures” in place to minimise the risk of bribery. The seminar will present the audience with the possibility of discussing compliance issues in a professional forum, as well as providing knowledge and tools to deal with compliance issues not only in relation to the UK Bribery Act 2010, but also in connection to the American FCPA and other global regulations.
The seminar will be held on three dates, so choose the one most convenient for you:
