DONG Energy is among the leading companies in the world in the design, construction and operation of offshore wind farms. In 2009 we opened the worlds largest offshore wind farm to date, Horns Rev 2, 30 kilometers off the Danish west coast.
We have been active in exploration and production of oil and natural gas for more than 20 years and now manage an expanding portfolio of more than 75 oil and gas licenses. Activities are strategically located in the North Sea in the areas West of Shetland, The Barents Sea, The Faroe Islands and Greenland. One of our major assets is the Ormen Lange natural gas field in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.
Our investments in natural gas and oil exploration and production activities along with long-term contracts for deliveries of natural gas from partners and finally our part-ownership of the new LNG Terminal in Rotterdam ensures us direct access to a reliable supply of energy for many years to come.
At the same time we are also looking for new ways to produce energy and to optimize energy consumption. Examples are the second generation bioethanol production at our new demonstration plant in Denmark, and our involvement in an electric vehicle project.
Every day we use our competences to move energy forward towards our long-term objective – providing reliable energy without CO2.
