The Zoo ReviewPrint

The opening night of That Theatre Company’s latest production ‘The Zoo Story’ directed by Barry McKenna, proved to be a stimulating evening discussing the role of conversation in today’s society. Set on a peaceful afternoon in Central Park, New York, the play begins with two strangers meeting by chance at a park bench. A seemingly harmless beginning that spirals out to unexpected drama.

According to KPN.dk’s review Ian Burns excels as the cultured and tolerant Peter, while Adam Brix brings vulnerability and desperation to life in his depiction of Jerry.

Mariano A. Davies, President, BCCD, who was among the guests at the opening night performance, elaborates:

“After the play to a full house, three professors from Copenhagen University and Roskilde University, who specialise in social interaction and cross-culture issues, successfully took part in a debate with the audience.”

The British and American Ambassadors were also in attendance, supporting the cause of high quality english-language theatre in Copenhagen.

A group of BCCD members will be seeing the play at Krudttønden on 11 November:
