The President of Ireland Official VisitPrint

The President of Ireland H.E.Mary McAleese and Dr. Martin McAleese paid an official visit to Denmark on the 11-13 October.

On her first day in Denmark President Mary McAleese had political talks with Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen and visited the parliament. In the evening H.M. Queen of Denmark hosted a dinner at Fredensborg Castle.

During the visit special attention was paid to green climate technology solutions. This is also the reason why The President visited the island Samsø on Tuesday 12 October. The President , among other things, visited a biogas plant and a wind farm. From Samsø the trip went to Aarhus University where the President held a lecture entitled: 'The Small States in the New World Order'.

The visit ended in Roskilde on Wednesday 13 October with a trip to Roskilde Cathedral and the Viking Ship Museum after which she opened the new Irish Tourist Office in Copenhagen.
