Today, just over three years after its original launch the British Chamber of Commerce in Denmark re-launches its website. It was decided that although the website look and feel was still extremely contemporary, the actual functionality of the site needed to be reviewed, so over the last couple of months the site has been re-built on the latest version of the Sitecore CMS by web consultants Famjin.
“At this moment, there is a basic one-to-one match to the previous site but the new foundation gives us the opportunity to investigate some fresh ways to service our members better through the use of more à jour communication methods”, Penny Schmith, Administrator, BCCD
The new site will allow the BCCD a greater range of multimedia formats which will support flash, video, podcasting and mp3 so that members who have not been able to make event will be able to catch the occasion online.
“The website is an important communication vehicle for us so it is critical that we are able to provide a top service online. A lot has happened on the web since 2004 and we would like to leverage some of the emerging technologies to improve interaction with our members”, Mariano A. Davies, Chairman, BCCD
Major thanks go to Gold Sponsors Chevron Denmark who provided funding assistance for the new site.
From a practical perspective, the new extranet environment has required that we generate new passwords for all members; these will be communicated to you personally in the next couple of weeks, so you will be able to access the member section. All those who have signed up for newsletter information need take no action, and will continue to receive the newsletter as before.
We hope you enjoy the new site. If you have any issues, or would like to make any suggestions, please feel free to contact Penny Schmith with your comments. |
