I am re-branding myself again. This time it is portrait drawing that is my chosen professional focal point. Through portraits I would like to offer people drawings and paintings by which to remember and cherish special people on special occasions.
When I was the Executive Director of BCCD lots of people encountered me in that role and reasonably assumed that that was all I did, in spite of my discreet efforts to promote viaction (my consultancy). When I stepped down in 2007 I found that few people knew that I had been working for half my time as a leadership development consultant internationally and that I now intended to revert to full-time work in this field. Re-branding myself from BCCD to viaction, was particularly challenging. Of course, just as I am still active in BCCD, I am still available for leadership development and other services.

Now my brand focus is portrait drawing and I have an initial offer for commissions at www.johnmott.dk. So why not buck the digital trend? Have a classic framed portrait drawn that can be hung on the wall as a permanent reminder or celebration of a person at a particular moment in their life. In business this can be at retirement, with promotion, on leaving or to mark a significant achievement. Privately there are a multitude of occasions to capture in a portrait, like commemorating a “studenterhue”.
The self-portrait here is an example of what I do. Visit www.johnmott.dk and see some other examples, and then simply e-mail me a photo from which to work and I’ll hope to get right onto it. Sitting still is not necessary.
John would like to thank Kat Vyce for her help with getting johnmott.dk online
