Lunches

Now is the time to sign up at www.bccd.dk for lunch this Friday. "De-regulation in the Airline Industry" is the title Stefan Vilner, Vice-President, Commercial, of Sterling Airlines, has chosen when he speaks at the lunch on 24 February. Drinks begin at 11.45 and lunch begins at 12.15 at the Imperial Hotel.

"Match Racing - competitively, for fun and for companies" is the subject Jørgen Stock Melchior, General Manager at the Royal Matchrace Centre, will speak about on Friday 17 March.

Details of lunches for the rest of 2006 are available at the website so that members can book the dates and line up their guests in plenty of time.

Rasmus Warborg Larsen showed us the vision of Ørestadsselskabet for the development of Ørestad, a major new town in the centre of the Øresund Region, in a polished and highly informative presentation after lunch on Friday 20 January.

Better Business with Britain

The BCCD hosted a very worthwhile half-day conference on the theme of "Better Business with Britain" in association with the UK Business Club (UKBC) and lassen.net on 2 February 2006 at the Regus Offices in Copenhagen from 08.45 to 12.00. Speakers included Stephen Metti from UKTI at the British Embassy, Claus Wagenblast-Franck from Danske Bank, Steen Rosenfalck from Miller Rosenfalck, Paul Pownall from the Tenon Group, Niels Henrik Hansen from SAS and Tony Burrows from European Business Solutions, all of which was co-ordinated by our own Mariano A. Davies. Tom Lund Jensen from Sportextreme gave a very good example of how our network can provide support for people doing business with UK as well as for people expanding into the UK. The event was attended by five BCCD members and forty-five UKBC members and guests.

New Members

In February the BCCD welcomes:

  • A. P. Møller as a Founder Member, and
  • Sterling Airlines as a Corporate Member.

Extranet Member Lists

Pam Pourzanjani has given the website much needed attention recently. It is now up-to-date. We are slowly developing our Extranet for members, accessible only to members with an individual password. It currently contains two lists of members. The first list is a full list of members alphabetically by surname. The second list is a list of the people representing companies in the BCCD, alphabetically by first name. The extranet also contains a Forum where members can leave messages and enter into dialogue on relevant issues. This depends for its success on being used, so - BCCD members - please feel free.

Founder Member Certificates

The BCCD is presenting each Founder Member with a framed and glazed certificate of membership in recognition of their support for the new Chamber. These are now being distributed to Founder Members.
