Sponsorship Opportunity

Ripley Davenport A world record attempt by British (living in Denmark) Adventurer Ripley Davenport - "It stands to become the longest solo and unassisted walk ever completed."

The Mongolia 2010 Expedition (M2010X) is a momentous attempt to be the first recorded solo and unassisted walk across the vast landmass of Mongolia, from east to west, starting in April 2010. This effort to push the frontiers of human capabilities, challenge environmental values and inspire youth to reach beyond their perceived limits and engage their dreams. The Mongolia 2010 Expedition is truly one of the last great adventures. The Expedition will involve walking 1700 miles / 2750 km’s across the Eastern Mongolian Steppe, Gobi Desert and the Altai Mountain Range, while hauling provisions and equipment weighing in excess of 250kg in a wheeled trailer, specifically designed for the journey, in 90 days or less.

The expedition will benefit charities including Unicef, and Hopes and Homes for Children. He will also be providing publicity for ShelterBox a charity that provides immediate Shelter for people impacted by disasters

Ripley is looking for one or more sponsors to support his (relatively low cost) expedition. This is an excellent opportunity. He will be filming a documentary during his solo journey, and writing a book, as well as being trackable and giving LIVE webcasts and linking up with schools and students worldwide on the internet during his journey. There is therefore ample opportunity for logo placement on his clothing and equipment, external websites, as well as his expedition web site. In addition he will be available to participate in speaking events both before and after his trek across Mongolia. To find out more about the sponsorship opportunites please mail him directly at mail"@"mongolia2010.com cc'd to gareth"@"bccd.dk. You can also see more at his website here.

A warm welcome to:

From the Secretariat:

We have recently changed our invoicing system to use PBS, and have now sent out invoices for all this autumn's events. You will now be able to pay using FIK codes, which we hope you will find more convenient.

For members with TDC e-mail addresses, the problems some people are having with using the sign-up form for events on the website are not yet solved. This mainly applies to those with ".mail.dk" or ".tele.dk" addresses. We are investigating the problem with TDC and hope to reach a solution soon. In the meantime, please just phone or e-mail the secretariat directly.

The secretariat wishes you all a merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous 2010.

Kind regards,

Penny Schmith
Executive Director
