Dear Members and contacts,
We can look back, at the end of the BCCD-BIU season to some excellent events in recent months. To name a few of the successes: Current Financial Market Turmoil seminar, The Duchess film, John Nettles reception, Women on Boards seminar and our high calibre lunch speakers: Lars Rohde, Professor Kurrild Klitgaard and an AGM with HMA Nick Archer.
The secretariat will now be closed for a few weeks, but plans for interesting events in the late summer/autumn are already well advanced.
It is going to be a real UK culture splash at the beginning of the new season. BCCD-BIU are supporting Hamlet Scenen with the British Donmar Warehouse production of Hamlet starring Jude Law at Kronborg from 25 August. All six performances are sold out so regretably we can not organise anything for members, unless anything changes. But, we have organised a special private viewing of an exhibition by British artist Allan Rankle on Thursday 27 August at a Hans Alf Gallery in the trendy area of Flæsketorv and we invite members to buy tickets for the first ever performance of the London Philharmonic Orchestra in Denmark at Tivoli on Thursday 3 September, with a reception before. Keeping the social theme in mind, remember to reserve Thursday 10 September for our annual golf tournament which is taking place at the links course, Gyldensteen Golf in Bogense this year. Corporate members could already start putting their staff/client teams together, using the opportunity to meet with those based on Jutland or Fyn. Finally, we will be arranging another preview of a British film at the Grand in the autumn, the new Ken Loach, "Looking for Eric".
