New office

The BCCD-BIU office has now moved! The process was quite smooth, and we now have substantially more space available including our very own meeting room. This is a very positive move for the Chamber, and we hope to be able to expand the range of services we can offer to our members as a result. We are very easy to reach, the train and metro (M1) stop at Orestad, and we are just over the road in the office block above the Fields centre. Our phone number has not changed, and our new details are:

News updates

Self portrait by John Mott, 2010

Keep an eye on the 'Latest News' panel on the left hand side of the BCCD-BIU home page for General news and articles on recent events. These are added on a regular basis and are a good way to catch up on events you may have missed. There are also a couple of new additions to our Business News section - if you have anything to add, then please get in touch.

Finally, John Mott, who was Penny's predecessor as Executive Director of BCCD has given us an update on his latest venture, portrait drawing.

One Stop Shop Copenhagen

København KommuneCity of Copenhagen (København Kommune) have recently launched a new International Service. It is designed to be a One Stop Shop for expats relocating to Copenhagen, where you can register for a residence permit & yellow card and get help with tax. The advice is available in English, and the One Stop Shop website with more information is now online.

Copenhagen Post Supplement

We are producing a supplement with our media partner, The Copenhagen Post, who will assist in the design and production process.

The newspaper supplement is intended to showcase three of the major themes relevant to members, which we have explored in our events over the past year. It will allow these topics to be covered in greater depth and updated with current developments. The themes for this year will be:

  • Environment & Sustainability
  • Corporate Governance, and other developments following the financial crisis
  • Employment of Internationals in Denmark (with a focus on international schooling)

The supplement will now be launched at our September lunch (with Bendt Bendtsen).

Do you do business with Eastern Europe / Russia?

Laura & Ripley Davenport will be moving to Copenhagen once Ripley returns from Mongolia.  Laura is therefore looking for job opportunites in this area (view Laura's CV).  Laura says "My area of interest is: customer service, office duties, business development to new markets - Russia, Eastern Europe. Also translation services English, Danish, Russian, Lithuanian."  Please contact Laura directly if you are interested.

From the Secretariat:

The past month has been very busy for the secretariat, combining moving offices with bringing all our systems up to date and preparing the programme for next season.  We are very much looking forward to a well earned break, and will be back and eager to engage from the start of August.

Have a wonderful summer!

Kind regards,

Penny Schmith
Executive Director
