Dear Members and contacts,
Welcome to the new season of BCCD-BIU activities. We hope you have all had a good summer break and are ready to participate in some of the many different events we are arranging from September onwards.
The secretariat had a very busy spring and pre summer period settling everything into place after the merger of BCCD and BIU. We hope that all members from both organisations are happy with the service we are providing. Don't forget to send us a mail or call if there is anything we can improve or help with.

"On the way home" / Gå hjem meetings
We will be continuing this popular series of meetings on topical issues useful to a wide range of members. The first is being planned for late September and more details will be sent out soon.
Topics that are likely to be covered in the autumn are:
Social innovation and entrepreneurship Networking Who needs an office?
- Social and cultural events
Seasoned members will have noticed that the "Autumn Ball" does not appear in the calendar this year! We are currently taking a look at this event to see if it still fits with members' interests and will probably announce a revised event later this year.
We are however planning an exclusive theatre evening for BCCD-BIU members and guests in October and there will be our traditional Christmas reception hosted with UKTI at the British Embassy in December.

Another COBCOE member, The British Business Group in Macedonia, has contacted us to ask whether any of our members is interested in discussing partnership possibilities on IT, internet or software related issues with one of their member firms. Corporate logos: You may have noticed that in the process of upgrading the website, we had to delete many of our corporate members' logos from their profiles, because the quality of the graphics file we had was not adequate for the new site. Can we please ask all corporate members to check whether their logo is on their profile and if not arrange for a good quality graphics file (jpeg, gif or similar) to be sent to the secretariat.
Lunch charges: The charge for lunch at the SAS Royal Hotel for those members who do not have these included in their subscription package for this season, will be DKK 275 including moms. The same amount will be charged for any guests which members invite. Non-members, who are not guests of a member or the secretariat, will be welcome to attend at a charge of DKK 300 including moms, but there will be a limit on the number of times a non-member can attend during the season.
Membership subscriptions: We are reorganising our invoicing of membership subscriptions to a January cycle, to make our administration simpler after the merger. This means that members due for renewal of subscriptions from September onwards will receive an invoice for the rest of 2008 plus the whole of 2009 and then not be invoiced until January 2010.
Passwords for the extranet: All members should by now have received a login for the extranet on the upgraded website. If you have not had an e-mail or a letter with this information, please contact us.
Full list of members: This list on the extranet should include all individual members and representatives of our corporate members with which we have had contact. Please check that you are listed with the correct information and contact us to amend the information if necessary.
Members news, member to member offers and member events:
We welcome receiving news from members of significant developments, awards, contracts etc. and will place an article on our website if you provide text or a link to the information. We will also announce it briefly in the next newsletter.
Members are welcome to make offers to other members on the special extranet section. These should however be something that is either exclusive to BCCD-BIU members or being offered at a reduced rate, special package etc. than it is normally available to normal clients and contacts. We can not be involved in any administration of the offer, other than placing relevant text on the website.
We can also place information from members on the "other organisations events" section of the website. These do not need to offer any discount on the attendance fee. We may also be willing to do a special mailing to all members or specific categories of membership with details of a specific event or invitation.
Direct mailings to members
We would like to remind members that to safeguard all members being drowned with unwanted e-mails, all requests and offers to the membership must be directed via us. We do not permit members to use the e-mails given in the members' list for anything other than individual contact. If you are seeking employment opportunities, we are willing to place a brief background for you in the relevant section of our newsletter together with your contact details. Members and other contacts on our mailing list will then be able to get in touch directly with you if your profile is of interest to them.
