Dear Members and contacts,
The autumn season has been very sucessful with well attended events. Our lunches have featured interesting guest speakers on a wide range of topics: the current financial outlook, transport recommendations for Denmark and corporate governance. Our social events, organized around a British modern artist Duggie Fields and an English theatre production “the Road to Mecca” also proved popular.
There have also been a couple of new initiatives taken:
We held our first ever “on the way home” meeting in Jutland in October, hosted by our member and Gold Sponsor, PriceWaterhouseCoopers and arranged in cooperation with our partners on the Climate theme, Copenhagen Climate Network. It was good to meet both existing and new contacts in Århus and we look forward to continuing our activities outside the capital.
“Charlie’s Bar meetups” also got off to a good start and will become a regular feature in the New Year, adding a more informal element to our activities for the network. The “Brewer” from St Austell’s was very entertaining and informative about his beers and they tasted good too! We are changing the meetup day to Thursdays in the New Year, partly because feedback indicates this is preferable as closer to the weekend but also because the Copenhagen Post has offered to make free copies of the new edition available at these occasions and there will sometimes be a chance to “Meet the Editor” and give him your views.
There are many interesting events and things planned for members in 2009, so keep your eye on the website so you don’t miss out.
