Dear Members and contacts,
Welcome to the April newsletter.
I think we can say that spring has arrived in Denmark and it certainly has for the Chamber! The next three months are packed full of events, so there should be something for everyone in the calendar.
Our March lunch saw the launch of a CSR initiative for BCCD-BIU, which we hope all our members and contacts will support. We are able to offer the 2011 "Two for One" book at the preferential rate of DKK 395 as opposed to the normal price of DKK 495 . In addition to this, we can keep DKK 100 from each book sold and put it towards supporting the youth activities and cultural centre provided by the Danish Church in London.

Read all about this campaign at our Two for One landing page.
Please, please support us in this bid to raise money for what we believe is a worthwhile cause.

Cornish Pasty House
Fantastic news for any Cornishmen in Copenhagen, and for anyone else who loves Cornish pasties! These are a speciality from Cornwall, the south-western tip of the UK, and are available in the traditional meat & potato flavour, as well as steak & ale, and vegetarian options among others.
See www.cornishpastyhouse.dk for the full story, including the history of the pasty.
Jason Mather is a Cornishman who settled in Denmark many years ago, who has decided to bring a taste of Cornwall's finest here. Cornish Pasties have recently been granted Protective Geographical Indicator (PGI) status and Jason and his team serve the genuine article.
The Cornish Pasty House opened in February this year and you can find it on Studiestræde in central Copenhagen.
If you or your business have a party to cater for (large or small) then you can also purchase frozen pasties, to heat up and serve as an easy and delicious meal - no plates required!
Sponsorship opportunities:
A UK based charity the International Network of Street Papers (INSP) offers a sponsorship opportunity to members of the British Chamber of Commerce in Denmark.
Sponsoring Simon Ankjærgaard (Editor, Hus Forbi, Denmark) to attend their charity’s international conference in Glasgow, UK (19th-22nd July 2011) will give a wide range of sponsorship benefits and the opportunity to raise profile and increase customers in the UK, Denmark and overseas, while also providing valuable training to Simon, helping him to run his street-paper project more effectively. Past conference sponsors have included, Reuters News, Inter Press Service, Australian Government, Ministry of Tourism (Quebec) and the Royal Bank of Scotland. Please see further details in the sponsorship proposal.
Exhibitions
BCCD will have a stand at the Going Global Exhibition in ExCel, London on 19 - 20 May and Steen Donner, Director of Copenhagen Capacity will be the key speaker at our seminar slot during the Exhibition. This is great opportunity to make contact with British businesses looking to set up or develop links to the Danish and Nordic markets. Penny Schmith, BCCD Executive Director, and Mariano A. Davies, BCCD President will be representing BCCD and our members.
