People update: this is your Board
You may not see much of them, but BCCD's board members meet 4 - 5 times each year and are responsible for oversight and strategy within BCCD-BIU. We think it is important that members know who is on the Board, so we will be telling you more about them over the next few newsletters. You can find a list of BCCD Board members in our 'About Us' section.
Thomas Thune Andersen is Chairman of BCCD-BIU, having been elected by Board and approved at the AGM in May 2010. Thomas is Chairman of Lloyds Register, Freeman of the City of London (Shipwrights), a By-Fellow of Churchill College at Cambridge and a member of the Travellers and the Special Forces Clubs. He holds several board positions including: Scottish and Southern Energy, VKR Holding, and Petrofac.
"I am honoured to have been elected Chairman of the BCCD. Having had the good fortune of living six years in England and having had close relationships to the UK during most of my career I am very much involved in the issues of BCCD-BIU. Contributing to the important work of strengthening the relationship between Denmark and the UK will give me both a professional and a personal satisfaction."
Nicola Gordon is BCCD-BIU's newest board member and was elected to the board at the AGM in May 2011. Nicola has worked for Shell for over thirty years and has lived and worked in New Zealand, Norway, England, Netherlands, Scotland, Norway again and now Denmark, currently as Managing Director for Shell Exploration and Production.
Career highlights include a spell running in-house graduate training and development courses; an assignment managing the UK’s Brent field operations and, in 2007-9, leading the team with responsibility for Norway’s Ormen Lange field and Shell’s UK gas infrastructure, together delivering a third of UK gas supply. She is an inspirational leader with a passion for safety leadership and mentoring and career development. She has an extensive network in the energy business in Norway, UK and Denmark and speaks Norwegian.
Membership Update
The AGM in May 2011 approved a change in several membership categories from January 2012 to streamline our membership structure and enable BCCD-BIU to provide a clearer and more efficient service to you. The 9 main membership categories have been replaced by just 3: Corporate, Small Business and Individual. We are currently contacting all members to make sure you are clear about what these changes mean for you, but if you have any questions then please don't hesitate to contact Nina Norheim: nina"@"bccd.dk, +45 3118 7558.
Nina Norheim joined BCCD in August this year with the goal of improving membership recruitment and retention. Find out more about Nina.
